Under the heading “take me there” I usually write when I get the travel nerves going. This time it’s not daydreams but for real. Tomorrow a friend and I are heading to Paris to visit the
Maison et Objet Paris fair . It’s not the biggest fair in the interior design industry, but definitely the best. So many beautiful things and inspiring environments. So I’m excited.

Of course, we also intend to enjoy the city, which must be the most beautiful in the world. For the first time, I will live in Montmartre, the “hill” that is part of central Paris. But without the hectic pace. It is always packed with tourists despite this, certainly for the atmosphere that feels like a quiet oasis in the middle of the city with cafes, bars and the artists’ square place du Tertre. But what makes the district a tourist magnet is above all the world-famous Sacré Cœur church (although it is called a basilica after the model from ancient Rome) And not to forget the Moulin Rouge.

When your feet get tired, you have a glass of champagne. It’s served by a traveling caravan. The Champagne house Veuve Clicquot is responsible for it all. The French don’t think it’s remarkable at all.

What makes my friend and I go crazy are the fantastic fabric stores in Montmartre. At least three stores on the same street that have incredible ranges. One of them has fabrics on four floors in different price ranges. It’s heaven for two fabric freaks and it’s impossible not to shop around. Despite the bargains, I don’t always manage to find uses for the beautiful fabrics, but they end up in my considerable fabric collection….
Here you stand and study the high-quality fabrics in an unpretentious environment and the clerks cut on the spot.

My friend wants to take me to the concept store Merci, which apparently has everything.
In conclusion, I just have to show you some pictures from the magnificent Paris apartments.

Beautiful as it suggests. Check out the fluffy silk curtain above. If you get inspired, check out Alma House where you will find goodies for this purpose.
