Styling in the Style of the Red Rose

Just before the holidays, Interiorladies received a great styling assignment from Mäklarhuset in Karlstad. It was a newly renovated, unfurnished one-bedroom apartment in central Karlstad that needed to be styled for sale. Both my partner Nina and I were inspired by the beautiful roses outside the property and decided that we would style the apartment with the red rose as a theme.

Of course, red became the main accent color, with green as the complementary color. Here are some before and after pictures.

The living room before renovation and styling.

The living room after with walls painted in creamy white and freshly sanded, beautiful floors. The red accents really stand out against the white furniture.

Since we weren’t allowed to hang pictures or put rugs on the freshly painted floors, we used a lot of textiles to reduce acoustics and give the room warmth. We hung fabric curtains from Spanish fabric manufacturer Gaston Y Daniela and used pillows from Alma House.

Nina, who is a real garden enthusiast, took care of decorating the balcony and it turned out this nice:

Delicious arrangement of ivy and melon!

And finally, pictures from the hall, unfortunately I don’t have any “before” pictures but I remember it had apricot wallpaper.
