Now it’s full swing in the Alma House sewing studio. Our seamstress is sewing silk curtains for a burning life. For those of you who are thinking about changing curtains for spring, I offer some advice and lovely inspiration images below.

Plain, light-colored silk curtains are always a safe choice.
Since curtains can be quite expensive, it’s important to get it right from the start. If you’re tempted by a colorful, patterned fabric, use it for a pillow instead.
Generally speaking, if you want your curtains to last for ten years, you should choose a solid color or a simpler pattern, such as stripes, so as not to get tired. I myself tend to get tired of patterns and strong colors after a while. However, if you otherwise have a neutral and light color scheme and want your curtains to be the eye-catcher in the room, colorful curtains can be just right.

The easiest way to make a curtain look good is to choose a color close to the wall color. Just a shade or two lighter or darker will make the curtain blend into the room. However, the change in the texture of the fabric will give the room enough interest.

In my opinion, silk curtains are the most beautiful of curtains. However, what you should keep in mind is that the fabric can be sensitive to sunlight and we therefore recommend lining the curtains for a long life.

If you think it will be too expensive with multiple lengths, you can actually settle for one length that drapes this nicely.

Or if you want an extra luxurious look, waste the fabric and get a flowing and fluffy finish on the curtain.

Here we see again what colorful curtains can do for a room with an otherwise neutral color scheme .
