On the Prowl in Paris

My sister Maud and I went to the Maison et Objet fair a few weeks ago, partly to meet what we hope will be a new supplier of high-quality bed linen (from Italy), but also to get a little inspiration from all the beautiful things at this fair. Many of Europe’s leading producers of everything from furniture to small gadgets are represented at the fair. There is a general ban on taking photos, but if you ask nicely, it usually works out. One of the favorites is the furniture company Flamant. They always have a nice stand with room layouts the size of a normal villa.

I fell in love with a stylish bookshelf at Flamant. Note the small lamps, both practical and stylish.

A Chesterfield sofa, larger model, can it get more classic Burget than that? The wall is decorated with open books with yellowed paper. Looks strange in the picture but was quite tough in reality.

Sofa set in white linen fabric with round shapes. A little more modern but at the same time a timeless piece of furniture unlike all the ugly square sofas in gray that are in fashion at the moment.

It was close to 30 degrees during the fair days and it was good to be able to cool off with a glass of champagne served from a caravan!

We also had time to do a little sightseeing and went to Versailles where you are greeted by this impressive gate.

There was a separate exhibition in the halls of Versailles. Here, a shoe made of pots and lids by Portuguese artist Joana Vasconcelos stands in the fantastic Hall of Mirrors.
