Just as our weather forecasters predicted, it was a Midsummer with heavy rain. Not exactly the weather we wanted for a weekend in the countryside, but not at all unusual. The only advantage is that we understood in advance that we had to set the table and eat our herring and drink our nubbe indoors. At least we escaped the thunderstorms that were also in the forecast. A bit of a shame, I think. I like to watch the thunder from a reasonable distance. It’s a beautiful spectacle with the yellow lightning that cuts across a gray-blue sky.
