…….for fun of course.
A few weekends ago, my sister and I were at the Music and Arts festival in Stockholm, where Marianne Faithfull performed. I think she is a fantastic person who has had an incredible life journey. She went from being a young and innocent girl with a brittle voice to living a drug life for over 20 years to who she is today, an older woman with a deep, raspy but soulful voice. Today, she is deeply respected even in cultural circles for her interpretations of Berthold Brecht and gives concerts all over the world.
I read an interview with her where she said that she still has to work hard because she has nothing saved, she has lived day by day her entire adult life. In her old age I think she will want a comfortable place to live and with her personality as inspiration I have created a fantasy home for her with a bohemian touch.

Marianne in her youth in the 60s with her then-boyfriend Mick Jagger.

Marianne today, 67 years old and still going strong.
This is how I think I would live…
I imagine a building à la a New York Loft, shabby with a little wear on the walls and floors. The living room has worn floorboards that form a contrast to the otherwise slightly sheer and feminine feel of the room. On the sofa I imagine Marianne resting her voice and listening to the song of the caged bird…

The second part of the living room consists of simple chairs and a table that could function as a dining room set and a library area where Marianne can study the old classics that she missed in her youth.

The kitchen is flooded with light and here Marianne can host afternoon tea parties for her friends. Despite her past, I believe she has embraced the old British tradition of the old days.

The hall is dark and spartanly furnished but at the same time carries a restful feeling that is nice to be embraced by when she comes home from the tiring tour life.
