I’ve always had a weakness for gold-colored things. I don’t know how many objects I’ve painted or sprayed gold over the years. Everything from furniture and pots to decorative items. So it’s not without me being a little excited that there’s so much gold-colored stuff in the stores and it’s not without pulling on my shopping nerves, I promise.

This is a selection of HM Home’s range of gold products. I just couldn’t resist the size, great price too – 79 SEK.

Here is a selection of what Åhléns has to offer. A pedal bin in gold wouldn’t be wrong. Nor would the gold-plated Christmas bauble from George Jensen. Woe and horror if it comes off the tree and hits the floor. It still costs 249 SEK.
So there will be some interior design pictures where gold is the theme or as a stylish accessory.

Golden enough. Looks like the wall has been covered in gold leaf.

Lovely bedroom, brown and gold work great together.

A sophisticated entrance with a gold chest as the finishing touch.

Such delicious tables in gold!

Gilded chairs upholstered in black velvet in lavish settings are exactly my style.

It’s clear that on some level it would feel luxurious to step into a shower completely covered in gold mosaic. But as always, there can be too much of a good thing, less is more. A wall of gold tiles is more than enough.

More sober bathrooms. I especially like the picture above where the tiles shift into slightly different shades.

Effective with a black wall decorated with gold squares. An excellent DIY project to either spray paint or apply gold leaf to, for example, wooden panels.

Tough painting that will really be an eye-catcher in the bedroom,

Such an elegant dining area in a gold theme.

Living room by Ralph Lauren. Black and gold is both sophisticated and dramatic.

A hall table beyond the ordinary.

Deluxe bedroom. Lovely fluffy silk curtains in gold. Available to buy at Alma House. Take a look here: Silk in gold
Finally, a wishful thinking with reservations….

If I were 30 years younger and had a wasp waist, I would have liked to have this gold metal belt. But on the other hand, the comfort factor is probably zero when you sit down and the metal cuts into your ribs. But at least I bought something similar for my wrist instead.

I bought this bracelet at Skultuna. The old and prestigious brass manufacturer has really beefed up its range. In collaboration with renowned designers, there are both gadgets and jewellery.
