Summer Blues

I am a big fan of Ralph Lauren who has managed to create a brand that is synonymous with a lifestyle – the upper class. However, this lifestyle encompasses many styles, from French and English castle environments to New York Penthouse style to American East Coast style (which is copied by several of our Swedish interior design companies) and more rustic styles such as hunting lodges with Native American influences but also more rustic country house environments.

When we were renovating our summer house, I used Ralph Lauren’s rustic Old Mill hutch as inspiration. That’s presumptuous because of course we didn’t even come close to achieving this dream in terms of color and style with the limited resources available. Here are the inspiration photos.

What we implemented in any case was a uniform color scheme on the lower level. Blue and white became the basis for the color scheme.
