When January and February feel like an eternity with wind, snow and ice, I dream of a place where the situation is the opposite. That is, somewhere in the southern part of the globe where you don’t have to worry about how thick a layer of clothing you need that day. I don’t specify the location but let my dream float out into a general tropical paradise with sun, heat and air conditioning.

A swing to throw yourself straight into the mud .

An umbrella drink is a must and is easily downed after a day at the beach .

Meditation and yoga at sunrise or sunset suits me perfectly.

A little rest on the beach perhaps.

Or like this.

Bar hanging out on the evening terrace with a sea view.

Late dinner on the beach,

After that it’s time to curl up in your bungalow on the water .

The inside of the bungalow can look like this.

Or like this. The interior design style is colonial, which I am very fond of and have blogged about several times. One of them is here. Colonial style
I couldn’t help but add some other colonial environments.

Very appealing interiors for a colonial lover.

In the surrounding area you can come across colorful places like this that lift the spirits of life.
Now the question is, should I book a vacation at a resort in a tropical paradise where the focus is on beach life after all? The dilemma is that I no longer like to spend time on the beach. An alternative and compromise is to go on a cruise instead, although I don’t like boat trips either. But I can overlook that when the temptation to listen to blues music is greater. Every year in February, a cruise ship departs from Miami to Jamaica where blues is played practically 24/7. The trip is called KEEPING THE BLUES ALIVE and usually has the very best blues musicians in the USA on the program. I go for it! A real dream trip to invest in next year.
